Banque Sahelo-Saharienne Pour L'Investissment et le Commerce, BSIC (Gambia) which translates into english as Sahel-Saharan Bank for investment and Commerce in Gambiais the result of the Pan-African vision of leaders and heads of state of the CEN-SAD Community into which gambia was admitted.

A major objective of BSIC across Saharan and Sub-Saharan Africa is the establishment of national subsidiaries in member countries with the objective of creating a network of sub-regional, regional and inter-regional banks as the financial infastracture for expanding commercial and investment links among the BSIC member states and other African countries.
